Craft Your Days Away - Red, White and Blue

Morning!

I have all my fingers crossed at the minute as I'm hoping this scheduled post appears when it should as I am away on a lovely family holiday!

Today is also the launch of the new challenge over a Craft Your Days Away.

This fortnight, the challenge is Red, White and Blue, which is perfect for all the Jubilee excitement coming up over the next week or so.

Our challenge has a fab sponsor - which is the amazing One Stop Card Crafts!

I'm really looking forward to all the Jubilee, especailly as our Women's Institute are having a Jubilee Tea Party complete with cucumber sandwiches, scones, and Pimms!

So somehow I ended up volunteering to make a piñata for the children as I found a tutorial here, via stumble upon.

So here it is:

I followed the tutorial - then to decorate it, I sketched out the Union Jack, then used tissue paper which cut into frills to decorate it.   It was a bit hairy though as the tutorial said that it would dry overnight and it actually took a couple of days so I was worried that it wouldn't be complete in time for going on holiday.

I think it took about 4/5 hours to make, so it makes me feel quite sad thinking about how the children are just going to beat it - but there are Haribo sweets inside - so that'll make it all better!  Yum yum yum!!

So the proof of whether its any good will be when the children beat it - hopefully it'll withstand a bit, but to much that we have to resort to a chain saw!!

Anyway - thanks for stopping by - hope you enjoy the lovely weather that's been forecast for this weekend. See you all when I get back!!

You're having a baby!

Hi,

Hope you're all having a nice weekend. Today I've spent the day shopping for holiday clothes. Sounds good?  Wrong!  I hate shopping for clothes!

Never mind - perhaps I'll just get a personal shopper to do it all for me next time.

Tonight I want to share with you a card and tag I made for one of my lovely work colleagues who is just about to start maternity leave to have her first baby.  I love this paper, the hearts are all sparkly.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Clean and Simple
Simply Create Too - Mother's Day / Feminine
Card Mad Fairy - Clean and Simple
Di's Digial Designs - Show us some Bling
Digi Stamp Boutique - Customer Creations
Bunny Zoe - Anything Goes

And here's the tag I made to go with it:

The ribbon for the tag should have really been purple to match the card -but as look would have it the person who arranged the gift used pink ribbon - so it looked good.

Anyway - it's a bit late so I'm off to bed - thanks for looking.

Sunflowers

Hi,

I'm just stealing a bit of time this afternoon while the children finish their nap - hopefully I'll be able to get this posted before they wake.

I've also been catching up on all the blogs I follow - I seem to have had no time at all recently so have been making up for it this afternoon.

This card is to go into the stash of cards we are putting together for our Woman's Institute members birthdays.

This little cutie is a from Pollycraft, the DP is Dovecraft (Tea Party I think!) and the big sunflower is from some blog candy I won ages ago!  Although just looking at it - I've no idea why I've coloured her shoes blue - I suspect she's been taking fashion tips from my three year old - some of her clothing combinations are a little strange!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Lollypop Crafts - Anything Goes
Sassy Cheryls - May Flowers (hope this counts as I have NO idea when sunflowers come out!)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown - In the Garden
Paper Sundaes - Ribbons and Pearls
Really Reasonable Ribbon - Mothers Day / Feminine + Ribbon
Little Miss Muffet - May Flowers
Southern Girls - Get Your Girly On

Thanks for looking - hope you've all got something lovely planned for the bank holiday!
