Stampin' For the Weekend - Buttons and Bows

Hi,

Happy Friday - I've had a lovely week off work with the children, the weather has been lovely (no thanks to the weather reports predicting rain all week) and today we're off to look for the Gruffalo so let's hope the weather holds!

Today our new challenge launches at Stampin' For the Weekend - and our theme is buttons and bows!

We are sponsored for this challenge by The Paper Nest Dolls - they are new to me, but their images are super sweet!

Here's my card:

I've used Little Chick Avery - isn't she cute!  My papers are from Stampin' Up - I love those cute little chicks!

Hope you can join us for our challenge!  Thanks for looking.

Kitty Bee Designs - Easter Easter Hunt Ever

Hello!

A few weeks ago I opened my big mouth and said to my friends wouldn't it be nice to do an Easter Hunt round the park for the children. "Oh yes" they said and silly me said I'll do it - it'll be easy! Then this Saturday I realised the hunt was the next day!  Cue a very last minute trip to the supermarket for eggs and lots of them!!

Next to make some clues, lovely Ruth from Kitty Bee Designs sent me her very cute Easter Egg Bun so I could start making clues.  I'm a huge fan of her little cuties and so glad I'm on the DT otherwise I would be bankrupt by now.  Here's the link to her Etsy shop - go on take a peek!!

Now in the spirit of making things easy for myself (and leaving it until 11.30pm to sort out!!) and still needing to colour quite a few bunnies - how could I do this quickly?  I opened the image in paint and simply used the paint pot tool to fill in the large areas on the rabbit grey and then a couple of quick clicks to colour it's little nose and ears pink. I then printed out an army of bunnies, with just the eggs to colour.

I coloured the eggs (very very quickly) with my promarkers and made a quick colour book for the smaller children to match up and the older children took the highlighted letter from each word for their part of the hunt - as they needed to find out the name of another bunny.

I then used some classy plastic wallets to put the clues in, and dodged the rain in the park attaching them to trees with a bit of ribbon. It worked really well - and the children had loads of fun.

This was so simple to do and so much fun!  Thanks Ruth!

Thanks for stopping by my blog - my mojo has been missing for a while but I've got a lovely crafty night planned tonight!

Hugs

Aloha Friday Challenge! Play Pretend

Hi,

I'm here with my post for the Kitty Bee Design Team. For our challenge our theme is Play Pretend (show someone in a costume or doing something job/hobby related).

We have a fab sponsor for thi-s challenge  it's 2 Cute Ink you should check them out.

Here's my card - it was for my lovely mother-in-law. She is amazing!

This is a penny slider card - so Super Bun moves up and down.  With hindsight I should have made the writing a bit bigger.  I love this paper too - it's from a Crate Paper stack.

I hope you like it.  Why not join us for our challenge - you can link up your card here!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffett - Anything Goes
