Stampin' For The Weekend - Use Some Metal

Hooray it's the weekend!

I had a fab time last weekend on our ghost hunt - unsurprisingly we didn't see any, but I think we were making a bit too much noise.  This weekend sees me having a sophisticated day out on Saturday with friends (read: spending the afternoon drinking cocktails!!)

It's time for our new challenge at Stampin' For the Weekend and we have an amazing sponsor this time:

Yup - it's the very lovely Saturated Canary.  Although I've been a bit scared since I found out they are sponsoring us this year - my colouring isn't great and those lovely images have loads of lush hair, and dresses with folds and pleats.  So as we were (very kindly) able to choose an image I wimped out and chose the simplest one I could find!

I've also been watching some fab You Tube tutorials from Kit and Clowder here.

Anyway here's my card:

I love this image - it's so sweet!  It's called Washi Tape Kinda Girl. If you try not to look too closely my colouring isn't too bad.  Anyway the papers are from papermania from the Happy Days stack.

Another year older!

Hello!

I'm here to share a card I made for my lovely father-in-law.  I'm hiding inside again today as it's started snowing again.  I'm bored of being cold.

I decided I needed a treat and bought some new stamps in the Lili of the Valley Sale (actually mostly the ones I chose weren't in the sale - but we'll just ignore that fact!!)

I used the Papermania Happy Days stack (I think) and dug out some random string/twine I've had in my ribbon box for ever

1st Tuesday Throwdown Post!

Morning

I'm hoping this posts ok as I've scheduled it and am currently on my way to work.

The paper is a random piece from my drawer - I have no idea of the make! and the wool was some I had lying around.

Something Girlie

Morning all!

So it's forecasting snow all day.  Given I don't really like being cold or wet; snow is far from being my favourite kind of weather.

Nevermind!  At least the one good thing about snow is being able to come in and drink hot chocolate to warm up again - it's the law!

We have a new challenge over at Stampin' For the Weekend launching today.

Our theme for this fortnight is:  Something Girlie

This card is for one of the lovely ladies  of our Woman's Institute who has just had a lovely baby girl.   It's actually an 8 x 8 card and struggled a bit with the proportions of things but I think it's turned out ok!  I love this thick crinkled satiny ribbon it's so nice.  I may have this in  quite a few more colours too!  Looking back at last year's card it looks like I used this image a lot - but it is just so cute!!

Good news + Blog Candy Winner

Oh my - it's so freakin cold!

I'm sat in the house, with heating on, and a big fleecy dressing gown and I'm still cold.  Bears have the right idea hibernating all winter!

Anyway I just want to share my good news with you all.  I've been picked to join the design team over at Tuesday Throwdown!!  My first card is next week but why not pop over and checkout this weeks challenge "Frame It".

I've also realised I'm a week late with picking my blog candy winner!  My little Emily ended up picking the winner which was Sue - Bearhouse!  Here's Emily with the winning post-it note! I'm not really sure why was covering her face - in fact if you do know what goes on in a four year old's head I'd be interested to know!

So congratulations Sue - if you send me your address I'll get your candy posted off soon-ish if I cant get to the post office as I'm to much of a wimp to go out in the snow, I'll post it from work on Monday
